Slow Cooker Pork Roast made with homemade cream of chicken soup and homemade dried onion soup mix, is comfort food that is healthy & delicious!
With Winter and snowstorms still pounding most of the country, comfort food is a must, right?! This tender pork in a delicious gravy is best served over mashed potatoes. It’s a simple meal that your whole family will love.
Pork Loin works really well in the slow cooker and is my preferred cut to use. The pork shoulder is also an excellent choice.
While you can put a frozen pork roast in the crockpot, it will take much longer to cook (an additional 2 hours on high or 4 hours on low). I recommend either using a fresh roast or taking your roast out to defrost in the fridge a day or two in advance, before cooking, which is what I do.
In a small mixing bowl, combine dried onion flakes, onion powder, parsley, celery seed, paprika and pepper.
Place pork roast in bottom of slow cooker and cover in seasoning.
Pour Homemade Cream of Chicken Soup over top.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours till pork is tender and shreds easily.
Shred and mix well in gravy.
Serve over mashed potatoes or rice.
