With Winter and snowstorms still pounding most of the country, comfort food is a must, right?! This tender pork in a delicious gravy is best served over mashed potatoes. It’s a simple meal that your whole family will love.

What Cut of Pork Is Best For Slow Cooker?

Pork Loin works really well in the slow cooker and is my preferred cut to use. The pork shoulder is also an excellent choice.

Can I Put A Frozen Pork Roast In The Crockpot?

While you can put a frozen pork roast in the crockpot, it will take much longer to cook (an additional 2 hours on high or 4 hours on low). I recommend either using a fresh roast or taking your roast out to defrost in the fridge a day or two in advance, before cooking, which is what I do.

How To Make Pork Roast In The Slow Cooker

  • To start, get your Homemade Cream of Chicken Soup going on the stovetop. While you can use canned cream of chicken soup, I don’t recommend it. The homemade version is 100% worth the (very little) effort!
  • While your soup is cooking, prepare the seasoning for your roast.
  • In a small mixing bowl, combine dried onion flakes, parsley, celery seed, paprika and pepper.

  • Place pork roast in the bottom of your crockpot and cover with seasoning mix.

  • Cook on low for 6-8 hours, until pork falls apart and shreds easily.
  • Using 2 forks, shred pork and mix well in gravy.
