Apple Cinnamon Cake is an easy, delicious and moist cake using canned pie filling. Serve as dessert or a breakfast coffee cake!

This cake is the classic combination of sweet, spice and everything nice! It’s perfect served straight from the oven, but also delicious with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top! You can also find me eating a leftover slice in the morning, warmed up with an extra large cup of coffee! The possibilities are endless!

How To Make Apple Cinnamon Cake

  • This cake is so easy to make {maybe too easy} and if you already follow a grain and gluten free diet, you’ll most likely have all the ingredients on hand, ready to go!
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together almond flour, tapioca flour, salt, baking powder and cinnamon.
  • In a small mixing bowl, melt butter and then beat in eggs.
  • Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix well till batter forms.
  • Add in apple pie filling (make sure you read the ingredients on your can of pie filling, all fillings aren’t created equal. I recommend THIS brand.) and mix till well incorporated.

  • Grease an 8×8 inch baking dish (I use coconut oil) and then pour batter into pan.

  • Bake cake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
  • While cake is baking, prepare glaze to top the cake.
  • In a small bowl, mix together powdered sugar, milk and vanilla. You can use a hand mixer, but I just mixed with a spoon until smooth.
  • When cake is done, remove from oven and top with glaze.

  • Serve warm {preferably with a mimosa, trust me on that}!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups almond flour
  • 1/2 cup tapioca flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 5 tbsp butter melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 21 oz canned apple pie filling

Glaze

  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together almond flour, tapioca flour, salt, baking powder and cinnamon. 

    In a small bowl, melt butter, then blend in eggs. 

    Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix till batter forms. 

    Add in apple pie filling and mix till well incorporated. 

    Grease an 8x8 inch baking dish and pour batter into dish. 

    Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. 

    While cake is baking, prepare glaze by mixing powdered sugar, milk and vanilla till smooth. 

    When cake is done, remove from oven and pour glaze over the top. 

    Serve warm!
